Sump pump float switches are an essential component of any sump pump system. These switches are responsible for detecting the water level in the sump pit and activating the pump when necessary. The most common type of sump pump float switch is the vertical float switch, which consists of a cylindrical float attached to a rod that is connected to the switch. As the water level in the sump pit rises, the float also rises, triggering the switch to turn on the sump pump. Once the water level drops below a certain point, the float also drops, turning off the pump. Some sump pumps also use electronic sensors or other types of float switches, which can offer greater precision and control over the pump’s operation. Sump pump float switches are critical for ensuring that the sump pump operates correctly and efficiently, and they are an essential component of any home’s flood protection system.
